Give it up for Gulu is an effort to raise awareness and support for the people of Gulu, Uganda who are recovering from a 20+ year long civil war. We wish to bring the families hope for a brighter future, especially the children.

Why are we born here in the United States and others in places so troubled and impoverished? It's our belief that we are given the opportunity to share our many blessings with the less fortunate and to show love and compassion for our brothers and sisters.

Our good friend Fr. James of the Archdiocese of Gulu, Uganda visited St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Wilmington, Delaware January 2012. His visit softened our hearts and opened our minds to life in Uganda, Gulu in particular.
