Empowerment Piggery

In 2016 we established the Empowerment Piggery with the hopes of empowering the people of Anaka to lift themselves out of poverty.

Pigs play an important role in the lives of poor families. They can be used to help generate income for emergency needs and pay school fees, and they are easy to keep because they can be fed leftover crops and scraps from the kitchen. Our piggery provides a pair of pigs and instruction for their care to select families in need. Once a family has a pair, they can begin breeding them and start to establish a small business. They are encouraged to return 3 piglets back to the Piggery after breeding, to regenerate the stock and give other families a chance to lift themselves out of extreme poverty.

We are excited to see this project grow and help provide a way for the villagers to make a better life for themselves.  If you would like to invest in this piggery project, please indicate the Empowerment Piggery project when making a donation.
