Lenten Outreach Begins.

This will be the third year that the children from the Religious Education Program at St. Catherine of Siena, Wilmington, Delaware, will give up their "treats" for the benefit of others.

The children will once again sacrifice their treats of candy, ice cream, pizza, fast foods, etc. and donate the money they would have spent to buy chickens and goats for the struggling people living within the Archdiocese of Gulu, Uganda.  80 families were helped by their sacrifices in 2014 and 90 families in 2013.

This is a gift that keeps on giving!  Once the animals reproduce, they will be sold in order to help the families buy food, medicine or pay the school fees for their children.  Fr. James' will once again ask them to "pay it forward" and give one animal away if their's reproduce well.  Imagine how many families could be helped if they follow this request….
